There are a lot of perks to buying a newly built home. The pre-sale home inspection is typically a breeze. With new modern plumbing, roofing, and climate control you don’t have to worry about large maintenance expenses. You’re starting fresh. Just like when purchasing a car, new homes come with an extensive home warranty.
Modern construction means that you’ll be getting the highest efficiency ratings for your home. This is a major pro for homebuyers who are eco-conscious… or who are just looking to stay cool in the summer.
A new, modern design gives you a blank pallet to personalize your home… without the headache of tearing up shag carpet or smoothing out popcorn ceilings.
Oh— and a bonus?
You’ll move in feeling confident there are no ghosts in your home. There’s no chance of skeletons in the closet. We’re just kidding (kind of).
New homes are appealing in many ways. Especially for first-time buyers who would like to enter the property ladder without the financial stress of major maintenance overhauls. There are some seriously awesome brand-new neighborhoods in Madison.
Here are some of our favorites:
- Stoner Prarie
Stoner Prairie is a lovely Fitchburg neighborhood, only 15 minutes away from downtown Madison. They offer both move-in-ready homes, and original builds. Anyone looking to build can choose between 8 different floor plans. Amenities are customizable. Picture windows, stand-alone tubs, and fully outfitted kitchens are just a few of the perks. This neighborhood was built by William Ryan, an experienced local developer. It’s thoughtfully developed with views and convenience in mind. The local elementary and middle schools are both within walking distance. The Seminole Trail and the Badger State Trail are just down the street. All homes are built to be energy efficient (whaddup low winter power bills!).
- Grandview Commons
This Veridian Homes neighborhood recently won the “Next Generation Neighborhood Award”. Grandview certainly has a grand vision. They wanted to build a brand new community… that had all the charm of an older neighborhood. They wanted to bring back the “golden years” of the suburbs. When neighbors know each other by name and front porches are always occupied on sunny days. They have achieved this in a few different ways:
- All garages are located in the rear of the home.
- Front porches are shady and comfortable.
- Greenspace and landscaping are abundant and lush.
- Housing options are available for all ages and income levels.
- Shady Grove
If you’re looking to get in on the ground floor of a neighborhood that will surely increase in value, Shady Grove is a great option. This neighborhood will be only 1.5 miles from adorable Main Street Cottage Grove. Homes in Shady Grove will feature functional, yet stylish open-floor plans and designer master suites. Hiking, cross country skiing, and golfing are nearby.
- Autumn Ridge
Autumn Ridge is perched on a hill. Homes are built above the treeline and have views of the village of Oregon below. This neighborhood fits seamlessly into the historic streets of Oregon. Colorful mature trees electrify the neighborhood in the fall with yellow and red leaves. Tim O’Brien homes have master-planned Autumn Ridge to include 9 different floor plans, sidewalks, and green spaces. Safe bike paths connect Oregon to downtown Madison. This neighborhood fits seamlessly into the historic streets of Oregon.
- The Reserve
The reserve is a luxury community in Sun Prairie. Lots are expansive, the sun-drenched lawns are a gardener’s dream. Ranch and 2-story options are available, both frosted with high-end finishes. 2,000-5,000 square feet of living space is the norm at The Reserve. High ceilings and fireplaces are just a few of the amenities. A lovely walking path along Token Creek connects homes to the Token Creek Conservancy. Restored prairie wetlands give the neighborhood a calming respite, and wetland wildlife is abundant.
- Eagle Trace
Eagle Trace is a scenic neighborhood built among historic farmland. Grain silos and mature heirloom Oaks give this neighborhood lots of character. Eagle Trace is next to a large sunflower field. Lakes, parks, and golf courses are nearby. Its Verona location makes it convenient for anyone commuting to the Epic headquarters.
- The Village at Autumn Lake
Imagine having a shoreline in your backyard. Taking a kayak out, roasting marshmallows, or just sitting peacefully to watch the sunset over the water. This can be your reality at The Village. The neighborhood also includes peaceful walking trails and a dog park, great for socializing a new puppy. The homes are gorgeous too! They’re modern, while still having a bit of extra pizazz.
