Thanksgiving Meal-Kits from our Favorites

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. This year, we are going to leave our meal prep to someone else AND support one of our favorite local restaurants at the same time. I’d say that’s a win-win! Are you thinking about doing the same this holiday season, especially with some smaller gatherings this year? If so, there is still time to place your Thanksgiving Order! We have been doing some research over here to make some decisions on our end and here are some options to choose from

Next Door Brewing

This is hands down one of our favorite spots in the Atwood-Schenk neighborhood that you have to check out. Next Door Brewing features some of our favorite craft brews and delicious pub fare. This year, they are also cooking up a delicious take & bake Thanksgiving meal for you. The meal includes Roasted Turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, homemade turkey gravy, balsamic green beans, sausage stuffing, housemade dinner rolls, and crispy corn pudding. The meal is priced at $40 and feeds two people (what a steal!). Add on a unique twist to your standard Thanksgiving Dessert with a “Beer Pie” for $20, and don’t forget to top it off with some delicious craft brews. Our favorites are the Hyperbolic Imperial IPA, Bubbler, or anything seasonal! Place your order by November 21 for pick-up on Wednesday, November 25!

Merchant

Merchant is cooking up a festive Thanksgiving meal and is offering both a Traditional and Vegetarian Option. The traditional meal includes slow-roasted turkey, Uphoff farm ham, gravy, homemade cranberry sauce, classic mashed potatoes, apple and sausage stuffing, apple cider glazed Brussel sprouts with bacon bits, broccoli and cauliflower salad with sunflower seeds and dry cranberries & blueberries, and parker house whole wheat rolls with whipped maple butter. The vegetarian option includes all of the above but swaps turkey and ham for a tempeh and lentil “meatloaf” and nixes the bacon bits on the brussels sprouts. The traditional meal is priced at $65 and feeds two people. The Vegetarian is priced at $55 and also feeds two. Add a delicious pumpkin pie for $20 or a craft cocktail kit that starts at $34! Definitely, one to check out!

Great Dane

The Great Dane is offering a scrumptious sounding Thanksgiving feast! The menu hits all of our personal “must-haves” and includes oven-roasted turkey, homemade gravy, cranberry sauce, whipped potatoes, herbed cornbread stuffing, cauliflower, cheddar and asiago gratin, green bean almandine, fall harvest salad, handcrafted dinner rolls, and your choice of a seasonal pie. The meal feeds 5-6 people and is priced at $120. Place your order before November 23! Don’t forget to fill up some growlers to go with some of our classic favorites (Old Glory APA, Pecks Pilsner, Scotch Ale) or some seasonal varieties (Tri-Pepper Pilsner and Dark & Mild).

Heritage Tavern

Heritage Tavern has a mouthwatering, fancy menu lined up this year, which includes deviled eggs, market root vegetables and pickled apple slaw with market greens, brined and roasted turkey breast, confit thigh, cured and smoked turkey leg, roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes, willow creek farms Italian sausage and chestnut stuffing, roasted heirloom squash, haricot vert with candied almonds, riesling stone ground mustard gravy and dutch apple pie. The meal is priced at $50/person with a minimum order of 2 meals. Add on a cheese/charcuterie platter, butternut squash soup, pumpkin pie, or vanilla bean ice cream for an additional fee.

Longtable

Longtable wants you to let them do the cooking and has crafted a great menu for Thanksgiving.  The menu includes Herb Roasted Turkey with Gravy, Bandaged Cheddar Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Poblano, and Pepita Cornbread Stuffing, Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Bacon, Shallot and Apple Cider Vinegar, Smoked Sweet Potato Casserole (large meal only), Maple-Smoked Paprika Roasted Root Vegetables (large meal only), Orange-Star Anise Cranberry Relish, Dinner Rolls w/ Whipped Honey Butter, and Pumpkin Pie or Pecan Pie with Whipped Cream. Small (serves 2-3) $80, Large (serves 4-6) $150. Add-ons a cheeseboard, relish try, mimosa kit, or wine/beer for an additional fee.

Green Owl

Who says you can’t enjoy Thanksgiving if you are a vegetarian or vegan? The Green Owl is one of our favorite vegan restaurants in Atwood-Schenk and has a delicious 4-course meal lined up. This year’s feast includes wild veggie soup, cashew chevre chickpea salad, housemade tofu loaf, mashed potatoes with golden gravy, green bean casserole with plantain bacon, roasted vegetable medley, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin cheesecake. Everything is made from scratch, and you would never know vegan food could taste so good! Give it a go! Priced at $55/person
